On the Street. Grey Pea Coat, Vallila, Helsinki.

I love pea coat. The uniform of Corto Maltese, my hero. Traditionally it is dark blue, but grey is a good option. A pea coat is perfect to wear in November, when the frost has not yet bitten our noses. And note how the beanie is set. Hip and pop in Helsinki right now. With this I am referring to the previous post.

In the footsteps of Corto Maltese I mean the combination of pea coat and sailor hat.  And maybe the strict attitude as well.

When I refer to some famous characters or persons in my posts you can probably find the originals from my Pinterest board Characters. To Characters board I'm collecting real people, and people from popular culture and comics. A common factor in all these pictures is that they touch my feelings one way or another. On the street. A Miracle In a Gas Station ABC, Mikkeli.

On Midsummer last weekend I travelled to countryside as most of the finns do at that time. What that means is a big traffic jam on the road. After sitting four hours traveling in the car we stopped at the ABC -gas station in Mikkeli.

I didn't expect to see anyone interesting there, but there he was all black and white, smoking a cigarette outside the station. With all the gold glittering in his ears and wrist.

I could easily place him in a Corto Maltese comicstory by Hugo Pratt throwing knives around a woodoo princess at a shady jungle bar. Inspired by the image I borrowed a pile of Corto's from the library to read on a summer vacation. I recommend the same to everyone. Dream with the dreamer.
